Skiers in Finland will find varying conditions this Easter, with the Ylläs resort reporting nearly a metre of natural snow while Himos has narrowed some slopes to maintain coverage, according to a brief report by public broadcaster Yle citing the STT news agency.

Ylläs ski centre stated that early spring weather has not affected its snow levels, with natural snow depth measured at 97 centimetres on Wednesday. Meanwhile, at Himos in Jämsä, some runs have been narrowed to concentrate the remaining snow, and cross-country trails have been closed for two weeks due to insufficient coverage.

The Finnish Ski Resort Association notes that over half of the country’s ski centres will remain open through the Easter holiday. The season may extend as late as Mother’s Day in May under optimal conditions.
