The main negotiator in Faroese coalition talks says parties are finding common ground on gender equality, though disagreements remain on tax and fee policies, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Beinir Johannesen, leading negotiations between the People’s Party, Union Party, and Social Democratic Party, stated that while not all issues are resolved, progress is being made. “We don’t agree on everything, but we’re managing to find solutions where needed,” he said, noting that tax and fee discussions remain unsettled.
A major coalition bloc has now endorsed the framework smaller factions previously accepted. Johannesen’s remarks follow an interview with Høgni í Jákupsstovu, broadcast by the Faroese national broadcaster.
