Norwegian mackerel price rises to highest level in years

Norwegian mackerel will sell for a minimum of 32 Norwegian kroner (NOK) per kilogram from 6 April, following an agreement between Norway’s Pelagic Sales Organisation and buyers, Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The new price represents a 10 NOK increase compared to last year, equivalent to around 6.66 Faroese krona (DKK). In Faroese currency, the minimum price converts to approximately 21.33 DKK per kilogram.

The agreement sets the floor price for the upcoming season, marking one of the highest mackerel prices in recent years.
