A long-term strategy for elderly care in the Faroe Islands’ southern region of Suðuroy will be made public next week, according to a report by Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.
The plan, titled BHS2035, will be released on 8 April, following Easter. A working group was tasked with drafting a vision for elderly services up to 2035, outlining key priorities, strategic goals, measures, and core values for Bú- og heimatænastan (the Housing and Home Care Service).
The document aims to provide clearer choices and targeted efforts to advance social issues in the region. The service’s board has already approved the plan.
The working group included Rúni Rasmussen (project leader), Una Johanna Nolsøe, Elin Kristina S. Viðoy, and Bára Krosslá Mortensen.
