Three charged with attempted murder in Rovaniemi sword attack
Prosecutors have filed charges against three individuals in connection with a sword attack in Rovaniemi, northern Finland, Finnish broadcaster Yle reports. A fourth suspect will not face charges.
The three—aged 20, 30, and 38—are accused of attempted murder and aggravated preparation of a crime against life or health. The charges stem from an incident on March 13, when a man was struck with a sword on Korkalonkatu street.
Two of the suspects remain in custody. The trial is set to begin in the Rovaniemi District Court on April 14, 2026.
