New ferry Fagraberg arrives in Fuglafjørður late this afternoon
A new ferry, Fagraberg, purchased from the Netherlands for 250 million krona, will arrive in Fuglafjørður this afternoon, reports Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.
The vessel is scheduled to dock at the quay near the Framherji office building at approximately 4:30 PM, where a welcoming ceremony will be held. The ferry, built in 2018, has a gross tonnage of 4,100 and operates solely on oil, not electricity.
“No modifications have been made—everything remains as it was when we acquired it,” said Anfinn Olsen, the ferry’s captain, in an interview with KVF.
The older Fagraberg ferry remains listed for sale, with no inquiries received so far, according to Olsen.
