The roof of Christianskirkjan church in Klaksvík will be fully replaced this summer at a cost of 20 million Danish kroner, Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Construction company Articon has begun the project, which is expected to last the entire summer. The architectural firm FuglArk is overseeing the design. All roof tiles will be removed and reused where possible, according to the plan.

The church, located in the Faroe Islands’ second-largest town, will have scaffolding installed for the duration of the work.
