Tromsø airport evacuated after suspicious item found

Tromsø airport in northern Norway has been fully evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious item inside the terminal building, Nordlys reports.

Police confirmed the evacuation after abandoned luggage triggered an explosives alert during routine security checks. “The procedure is to contact the police, and they have initiated the evacuation,” airport security chief Svein Harald Johansen told the newspaper. “We know no more until the police complete their investigation.”

Authorities have established a security perimeter around the terminal while the item is examined. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
