Firefighters in Alta, northern Norway, have issued a public appeal after a crew member was nearly hit by a vehicle while responding to a snowmobile crash early Sunday morning. The incident occurred as emergency services dealt with a collision in the Detsika cabin area, according to a statement from Alta Fire and Rescue.

In a Facebook post, the fire department described how one firefighter was “almost run over” while loading a snowmobile onto a trailer after the accident. They reported being surrounded by intoxicated drivers on the parking lot, with snowmobiles operating without lights approaching from all directions.

“Please show consideration when we are on duty,” the department urged.

The original callout involved a snowmobile that had crashed into a tree. Norwegian public broadcaster NRK first reported the story, noting that Finnmark Police were not present at the scene but have since opened an investigation. Authorities are asking witnesses or anyone with information about the incident in Detsika, south of Alta, to contact police via phone at 02800 or through their website.
