Faroese political parties confirm Beinir Johannesen as negotiation leader

Faroese political parties have agreed to appoint Beinir Johannesen as the lead negotiator ahead of government formation talks, reports Kringvarp Føroya.

Photos published by the broadcaster show Johannesen alongside representatives from multiple parties, including former Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen, Bárður á Steig Nielsen, Björt Samuelsen, and others. The images were taken during a meeting at the office of the Speaker of the Faroese Parliament.

The negotiations follow the 2026 Faroese general election, with parties now working to establish a new governing coalition.
