Faroese voters participate most actively in parliamentary elections compared to other ballots, according to figures reported by public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya following Thursday’s election.

While voter engagement fluctuates across different elections, turnout for the Faroese Parliament (Løgting) consistently remains the highest—typically around 90%. Municipal elections follow, with participation usually near 80%, while general elections to the Danish Parliament (Folketing) see the lowest turnout, often below 70%.

Thursday’s Danish general election defied the trend, recording an unusually high turnout of 75.5% among Faroese voters.
