Medical checks for workers after possible contamination at SSAB steel plant site
Work at SSAB’s new steel plant construction site in Luleå has been halted after several employees sought medical attention following groundwork, Swedish public broadcaster SVT Nyheter reports.
According to Martin Gidlund, communications officer for the project, operations have been suspended while investigations into potential soil contamination are carried out. Samples have been taken, and work will not resume until test results are available.
No further details on the employees’ conditions or the nature of the suspected contamination have been provided.
