Voters in Runavík, one of the Faroe Islands’ largest polling stations, faced long lines on Thursday as early voting opened for the Løgting (Faroese Parliament) election, reports Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Good weather contributed to high turnout, with a steady stream of residents arriving to cast their ballots. The polling station at Bylgjuni in Runavík saw particularly strong interest, as voters took advantage of favourable conditions to participate in the election.

Early voting is now underway across the Faroe Islands ahead of the official election day.
