Taxi companies in the Faroe Islands say they have not seen increased demand on parliamentary election day, despite political parties offering free rides to polling stations, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Most parties contesting the Løgting (Faroese Parliament) election have encouraged voters to contact them if they need transportation to cast their ballots. While parties state they arrange rides nationwide, the highest demand typically comes from the capital, Tórshavn.

One party told the broadcaster they had not organised any election-day transport this year, citing low past demand and sufficient private vehicle access among voters. Both of Tórshavn’s main taxi operators, Auto and Bil, confirmed to Kringvarp Føroya that today’s election had not generated unusual call volumes—mirroring the minimal impact seen during last week’s municipal elections.
