US claims 10,000 targets struck in Iran as tensions escalate
The US military says it has hit 10,000 targets in Iran, destroying 92 percent of the Iranian navy’s largest vessels, according to a statement by Central Command (Centcom) chief Brad Cooper on Wednesday.
Cooper’s remarks, posted on X, come as US President Donald Trump claimed Iran secretly seeks negotiations with Washington but is unwilling to admit it publicly. “Iran wants to negotiate in practice, but they don’t dare say it,” Trump stated.
Meanwhile, Sweden’s Environmental Protection Agency has issued severe avalanche warnings for the Abisko/Riksgränsen and Kebnekaise mountain ranges, describing conditions as “life-threatening.”
