The two Faroese members of the Danish parliament have welcomed the prospect of a cross-party coalition government following last year’s general election, where neither the left nor right bloc secured a majority, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Sjúrður Skaale and Anna Falkenberg, both of whom received strong personal votes in the 2025 election, expressed support for the model used after the previous parliamentary vote, where parties from opposing blocs formed a government together.
Speaking in a television interview, Falkenberg and Skaale—who secured 10,823 and 5,304 votes respectively—made clear they favoured a centrist compromise over a single-bloc administration.
No bloc achieved an outright majority in last year’s election, making a repeat of the previous cross-party arrangement the most likely outcome.
