A five-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a traffic accident in Sandnes, according to police reports. The incident occurred when a bicycle was struck at a pedestrian crossing, as witnessed by several bystanders.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The boy is being prepared for transport via air ambulance to Stavanger University Hospital. Authorities confirmed that family members are present at the location of the accident.

The police are conducting interviews and gathering evidence at the site, with crime scene technicians also involved in the investigation. Reports from the scene indicate there is ongoing road work in the area, which may have contributed to reduced visibility conditions that led to the incident.

The affected road, Fv4536 Gamleveien, is currently closed between Stavangerveien and Lurabekkveien, with police directing buses away from the blocked area. The accident occurred near the Uno-X station in Lura, Sandnes.
