A violent confrontation involving multiple individuals at a school in Oslo on Tuesday afternoon has left one person injured, with reports of a knife or machete being used, according to police.

Norwegian police confirmed to Dagbladet that officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the altercation. Authorities have not yet determined whether those involved have any connection to the school.

“A person has sustained injuries consistent with a stabbing weapon,” operations manager Gabriel Langfeldt told the newspaper. “The extent of the injuries is unknown, but the individual is conscious.”

Langfeldt added that the suspect or suspects fled the scene before police arrived. “We are searching with multiple patrols and looking for a perpetrator. We are preparing for the possibility of multiple individuals involved.”

Police have not released further details about the incident or the condition of the injured person.
