Car recovered after sliding off road near Gøtugjógv in icy conditions

A car that veered off the road near Gøtugjógv in the Faroe Islands late Sunday evening was recovered on Monday, local broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

According to police, icy conditions caused the vehicle to skid off the road and into a ditch. The car sustained significant damage, though no injuries were reported.

Photos from the scene show the vehicle positioned down an embankment beside the roadway.

Eysturoyarportalin, a local news outlet, confirmed that slippery road conditions were the cause of the incident.
