Three people were taken to hospital with injuries following a violent altercation in Tromsø on Sunday evening, Dagbladet reports.

Emergency services responded to the incident in Tromsdalen at 6:26 PM after receiving reports of a large-scale fight. Police deployed significant resources to the scene, where operations leader Robin Åsheim Lindberg described the situation as “very chaotic.”

“We are working to gain an overview of what happened,” Lindberg told Dagbladet. One of the injured is believed to have sustained serious injuries, while the condition of the others remains unclear.

Police estimate that between seven and ten individuals were involved in the brawl, which they classify as a physical altercation. Witnesses reported that objects were used during the fight, though Lindberg confirmed no firearms were involved.

“We have launched an investigation to determine exactly what occurred and why,” Lindberg said. “Multiple patrols are active in the area.”
