Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla visits Danish Elvis museum
Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley, is visiting a Danish Elvis museum in Randers, calling the event “about the biggest thing” for local fans, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
The 80-year-old is touring Europe with a memoir show about her life but made a special stop at Memphis Mansion, a museum south of Randers that claims to be the world’s second-largest Elvis attraction after Graceland. Around 120 fans will have the chance to meet her during the two-day visit.
Henrik Knudsen, who has run the museum for 15 years, described the visit as a dream come true. “I was eight years old when I discovered Elvis in 1972, and I’ve been fascinated ever since,” he told DR. “I never imagined Priscilla would one day visit me here.”
Priscilla and Elvis Presley married in Las Vegas in 1967 when she was 21 and he was 32. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie, who died in 2023 at age 54. The couple met in 1959 in West Germany, where Priscilla’s father was stationed and Elvis was serving in the military. They divorced in 1973 but remained friends until Elvis’s death in 1977 at age 42.
Beyond her personal connection to Elvis, Priscilla Presley has played a key role in preserving his legacy, preventing the sale of Graceland after his death and transforming it into a major tourist attraction. She also acted in the 1980s soap opera Dallas and the Naked Gun film series.
Knudsen, who has met Priscilla before, is eager to show her the museum, originally named Graceland Randers before a legal dispute with Elvis’s estate forced a rename in 2016. “I’m incredibly curious about her reaction—whether she finds it charming or completely wild,” he said.
