Faroese maritime unions to begin contract negotiations next week
The Faroese Officers’ and Navigators’ Union and the Shipowners’ Association have signed a preliminary agreement and will hold their first formal contract negotiations on Tuesday, 24 March, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The two organisations exchanged draft proposals late last year as part of negotiations for a new collective agreement covering fishing vessels. Both parties have now reviewed the proposals and confirmed the date for their initial meeting.
The unions involved include the Officers’ and Navigators’ Union, the Coastal Vessel Union (Nótaskip), and the Shipowners’ Association.
