Bolt launches women-only ride service in Helsinki

The ride-hailing service Bolt has introduced a women-only taxi option in Helsinki, the company announced on Thursday, according to a report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The new feature, called Women for Women, allows female passengers to request rides exclusively from female drivers. Users can select the option after entering their destination in the app.

Bolt stated that the service aims to improve safety for women, citing demand for security-focused transport solutions. The option is initially available within Helsinki’s Ring III area.

The company did not specify whether the service would expand beyond the capital or to other Nordic markets.
