Prosecutors have charged two men with murder following a fatal stabbing outside a karaoke bar in central Helsinki in January 2026, reports Finnish broadcaster Yle.

A dispute that began inside the bar on Mikonkatu escalated into violence late at night, resulting in the victim being stabbed multiple times with an edged weapon. The 43-year-old man later died in hospital from his injuries.

The two suspects, born in 2001 and 2004, were part of the same group as the victim earlier in the evening. After the attack, they fled the scene on foot but were later apprehended by police in the city centre. The incident occurred in a public area with numerous witnesses.

The case will proceed to trial at Helsinki District Court. Both suspects are accused of active involvement in the attack.
