Top 10% of Faroese earners received 740,000 krona in 2025
The highest-paid 10 percent of wage earners in the Faroe Islands received 740,000 krona last year, according to new figures from the Faroese statistical agency Hagstova Føroya, reports Kringvarp Føroya.
Half of all full-year wage earners in 2025 earned 445,000 krona annually, while the top decile saw incomes more than 300,000 krona higher. The industry with the highest average salary was fishing and fish processing, where the mean wage reached 470,000 krona—a 5.4 percent increase from 2024.
Gender pay disparities persisted, with women earning an average of 400,000 krona, 27 percent less than men, whose average salary neared 550,000 krona.
