Ghislaine Maxwell recruited young women at hotel in Gothenburg
Swedish public broadcaster SVT reports that Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, held interviews with young women at a luxury hotel in Gothenburg in the early 2000s, seeking an assistant.
The recruitment took place at the Elite Plaza Hotel in central Gothenburg, where several women arrived after responding to a job advertisement in Göteborgs-Posten. One 18-year-old woman, however, was referred by Swedish former Miss Sweden Eva Andersson-Dubin, who had a long-standing relationship with Epstein.
The selected candidate was flown to Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, where her duties reportedly included personal tasks for Epstein, such as massages and nail clipping, according to her parents.
“It was always small things these girls had to compete for,” the woman’s mother told SVT. The young woman was later reassigned to work as a nanny for Andersson-Dubin, remaining in the role for several months.
“If it weren’t for the Swedish woman in this scenario, this would never have happened to our daughter. She was the guarantor for everything,” the woman’s father said.
Andersson-Dubin’s name appears thousands of times in Epstein-related documents, including emails showing her involvement in arranging medical appointments for women linked to Epstein. After Epstein’s 2008 conviction for sex crimes against minors, she defended him, writing: “I could not wish for a better friend or godfather to my children.”
SVT sought comment from Andersson-Dubin, who responded through a family spokesperson: “Eva Andersson-Dubin has never helped hire any women to work for Epstein, nor has she employed any women who previously worked for him.”
