Record number of women running in Faroese parliamentary election
A total of 62 women are standing as candidates in the Faroe Islands’ upcoming parliamentary election, accounting for 38.75 percent of all nominees, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Out of 160 candidates registered for the election, women make up just under 40 percent—a slight decline from the 2022 election, when 67 women ran among 167 total candidates, representing exactly 40 percent.
