Faroese voters have two deadlines for postal voting in parliamentary elections
Voters in the Faroe Islands who plan to cast postal ballots in the upcoming parliamentary elections have two separate deadlines, the national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
For the Fólkatingsvalið (Danish parliamentary election) on 24 March, the deadline to submit a postal vote is Monday, 21 March, as the final day falls on a weekend. The National Electoral Authority has clarified that voters should check with their local municipality whether postal votes can be submitted during regular office hours on Friday, 20 March, as this is not guaranteed.
For the Løgtingsvalið (Faroese parliamentary election) on 26 March, the final deadline for postal voting is the day before the election, Wednesday, 25 March.
The procedures for postal voting in both elections are otherwise identical, according to Hilmar Høgenni, head of the Environment and Family Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture.
