School bus collision in southwest Finland leaves car driver seriously injured

A car driver was seriously injured after colliding with a school bus in Laitila, southwest Finland, on Monday afternoon, according to police.

The accident occurred at around 3 p.m. at the Nästi intersection in Laitila, Finnish public broadcaster Yle reports. The road at the scene remains closed while authorities investigate.

The car’s passenger was taken to hospital, while the seven children aboard the school bus escaped unharmed, police confirmed.

Investigators are examining the cause of the collision.
