A resident’s vehicle was hit by two separate avalanches in Iceland’s Westfjords region, national broadcaster RÚV reports.

The car was parked near a home in the town of Ísafjörður when the first avalanche struck on Monday evening, partially burying it. A second, larger avalanche hit the same vehicle on Tuesday morning, causing further damage. No injuries were reported.

Local authorities have warned of heightened avalanche risk in the area due to recent heavy snowfall and unstable conditions. Residents have been advised to avoid parking near steep slopes and to follow safety guidelines.
