The police in Central Finland have completed their investigation related to the so-called “Ruusis 24 hit list,” which circulated on social media during the graduation weekend. “Ruusis” refers to a popular celebration spot for young people at Pyynikki beach in front of the Rosendahl Hotel in Tampere.

The list included various names, some of which were mentioned only by first name, while others had both first and last names or were identified by nicknames. According to Chief Inspector Pekka Ylinen, the investigation revealed that a single individual was responsible for creating the list, and their identity has been established. This individual is under 15 years old, therefore not criminally liable.

Ylinen did not disclose the age or gender of the youth but mentioned that they created the list impulsively. The young person acknowledged wrongdoing and expressed regret over their actions. He added that the situation was not related to any bullying or other motives.

Ylinen reported that the identities of nearly all individuals listed were uncovered, and the incident did not result in any actual violence. The investigation was conducted as a case of illegal threats and has since been concluded. Ylinen emphasized that the police treat content published on social media with utmost seriousness.
