Reykjanesbær projects budget surplus of 200 million krónur for upcoming year

Reykjanesbær is projected to achieve a surplus of 200 million Icelandic krónur in its budget for the upcoming year. This positive financial outlook follows the approval of the municipality’s budget today. The overall operations of the municipal system are anticipated to yield a surplus of 1.373 billion krónur when the municipal treasury and the municipality-owned enterprises are considered together.

In line with the budgetary adjustments, average fees will see an increase of around four percent year-on-year. The total revenue for the municipal treasury is expected to reach 31.6 billion krónur, while the consolidated revenue, including all municipal operations, is estimated at 39.7 billion krónur, contingent on the successful implementation of the financial plan.
