Ivan Niclasen, the director of the national broadcaster, has been dismissed from his position. Rógvi Olavson, the chairman of the broadcasting board, confirmed this decision following a meeting held yesterday afternoon.
The board determined that it no longer had confidence in Niclasen. This conclusion was influenced by revelations that emerged in a recent report, indicating that Niclasen promised an individual they could evade the broadcasting fee. He justified this action by stating it was intended to protect the safety of the staff.
The broadcasting board is now moving forward to appoint an interim director to lead the organization during this transition.
