A police investigation into the case of a father suspected of murdering his ten-year-old daughter near Krýsuvík in September has concluded. The findings will be sent to the district prosecutor in the coming days for further legal action.

According to a police spokesperson, the investigation involved a man in his fifties who contacted authorities himself to report his daughter’s death on September 15. He was arrested shortly thereafter at a location not far from the scene. He has been held in custody since his arrest.

The police have confirmed that the investigation is now complete, and the case details will be reviewed by the prosecutor’s office to determine whether charges will be filed in connection with the tragic incident.

In addition to this case, various ongoing news stories have emerged across the region, such as traffic disruptions and weather-related incidents. Emergency services have also been addressing reports of slippery roads and other hazards in the wake of recent weather changes.

It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming weeks, especially regarding potential formal charges against the suspect. Further developments will be monitored as the legal process takes its course.
