Dadgostar approval ratings plunge to 21% amid criticism over antisemitism in Sweden
Recent polling indicates a significant decline for the leader of the Left Party, Nooshi Dadgostar, whose approval ratings have dropped from 29% in June to just 21% in November—a decrease of eight percentage points. Per Oleskog Tryggvason, an expert on public opinion, notes that Dadgostar experienced a peak in popularity during the EU elections. However, ongoing criticism surrounding the party’s stance on antisemitism may have adversely influenced its support.
In contrast, confidence in Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has risen by three percentage points, now standing at 56%. This increase is attributed to the political discourse benefiting the Moderate Party, as they are increasingly seen as authoritative on critical issues such as the economy and defense.
In November, polling data collected from district chairs of the Left Party across the nation indicated that concerns over the Israel-Palestine situation had not diminished their support. The trust levels for various party leaders show the following figures compared to June 2024:
– Magdalena Andersson (Social Democrats): 53% (-1)
– Ulf Kristersson (Moderates): 56% (+3)
– Jimmie Åkesson (Sweden Democrats): 31% (+2)
– Ebba Busch (Christian Democrats): 25% (+2)
– Nooshi Dadgostar (Left Party): 21% (-8)
– Amanda Lind (Green Party): 20% (-3)
– Johan Pehrson (Liberals): 16% (no change)
– Daniel Helldén (Green Party): 13% (-2)
– Muharrem Demirok (Center Party): 11% (-1)
These shifts reflect a dynamic political landscape as various parties navigate challenges and public perception leading into upcoming events.
