The local swimming pool in Klaksvík will be dedicated exclusively to the training needs of the swimming club, Ægir, according to the city’s mayor, Karl Johansen. Plans are in place to construct a facility that will not host competitions but will serve purely for training purposes.

In the same vicinity, a gymnasium is also set to be built. The intention is to combine these two facilities to make the best use of shared spaces for various activities.

Klaksvík municipality has allocated 1 million Danish kroner for the swimming and gymnastics facilities in 2025, with a total project cost estimated at 90 million kroner.
