Sweden issues yellow warnings for icy conditions across southern Norrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten, and Lappland

On Friday, Sweden’s meteorological agency issued yellow warnings for icy conditions in multiple regions. By Saturday, warnings expanded to include southern Norrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten, and the southernmost parts of Lappland. The warnings are particularly focused on the southern areas, with the risk of ice spreading northward as evening approaches.

The predicted rain is expected to fall on frozen road surfaces, leading to hazardous icy conditions. The agency noted, “Given that road surface temperatures are anticipated to be below freezing, there is a risk of ice formation.”

Authorities are urging all motorists to exercise caution while driving in these affected areas.
