Lawyer files complaint against media outlet for violating name ban in major drug case in Sweden

The defense attorney requested the outlet to anonymize or remove any content published since the initial ban, but the outlet initially hesitated, stating it was unaware of the ban.

However, following further investigation, the media outlet admitted the mistake and has since removed or anonymized all content related to the individual in question. The lawyer stated that the initial intent of the name ban was to protect his client’s identity and that the media’s oversight could have serious implications.

Despite the outlet’s actions to rectify the situation, the lawyer intends to pursue legal action for the alleged breach of the name ban, emphasizing that the responsibility lies with the media to verify the existence of such orders.
