Pál Weihe addresses doctor emigration concerns from Faroe Islands amidst healthcare demands

The issue of medical professionals emigrating from the Faroe Islands has been highlighted by Pál Weihe, a specialist and professor in public health. Recent statistics show that 195 Faroese doctors are currently practicing abroad.

There is an expectation that within the next five years, the Faroese healthcare system will require around 100 additional doctors to meet increasing demands.
