Faroe Islands

All maritime and land transport services in the Faroe Islands were suspended this morning due to severe weather conditions, as announced by Strandferðslan.

However, operations are expected to gradually resume around midday. There will still be cancellations throughout the day and possibly into tomorrow, as forecasts indicate ongoing bad weather, according to a traffic coordinator.

The Smyril ferry is scheduled to operate its first trip from Krambatanga to Tórshavn at 5:30 PM this afternoon.

For updates on transport services and potential cancellations, travelers are advised to check the Strandferðslan website.

The traffic coordinator summarized the current situation as follows: “While we aim to resume operations, delays and cancellations will remain an issue as the weather continues to affect our schedules.”
