Police pursue escaped convict in Vantaa leading to apprehension

In the early hours between Saturday and Sunday, police in Vantaa were involved in a pursuit of an escaped male convict. The chief of the Eastern Uusimaa police, Miika Laine, stated that the chase commenced while officers were conducting traffic control along the roadside.
The individual attempted to evade the police checks and fled the scene. Subsequently, law enforcement initiated a pursuit, which ultimately led to his apprehension following several developments during the chase. He has since been returned to prison, as confirmed by Laine.
Reports indicate that the pursuit lasted approximately twenty minutes, stretching from the Simonkylä area of Vantaa to Veromiehi. Multiple police units were engaged in the extended operation, as noted by Laine.
