This morning, significant snowfall affected Vejle and its surrounding areas. The heavy snowfalls have resulted in traffic jams for cars and trucks struggling to navigate inclines. Anna Thoms, who was just leaving the center of Vejle, found herself unable to proceed. “It started snowing heavily, and suddenly I lost control of my car,” she explained. Stuck on Fredericiavej, she expressed her frustration, stating that she had contacted roadside assistance, but was informed it would take at least two hours for help to arrive. While she hoped to get some work done from her car during the wait, she wasn’t sure how long the delay would last. “I have winter tires, but I don’t have any blankets or supplies. Thankfully, I have plenty of fuel,” Thoms added.

Robin Henriksen, an operations manager at Falck, noted that she isn’t alone in her plight, as many others are also stranded due to the snow. “We are quite busy in the Vejle area, mainly assisting those having trouble on inclines,” he said, with around 10-15 vehicles needing help. Falck was caught off guard by the sudden intensity of snowfall. “We were prepared for the snow to start today, but the speed at which it fell surprised us.”

The local transport company, Sydtrafik, has also been impacted. All bus services in Vejle and surrounding regions are suspended until at least 1 PM due to dangerous conditions on the roads. Louise Christine Rasmussen, the company’s press officer, remarked on the unexpected volume of snowfall, highlighting the challenges of preparing for such weather and indicating they could only monitor the evolving situation.
