Authorities investigate alleged newborn burial near park in Slagelse

Authorities in South Zealand and Lolland-Falster are investigating the case of an alleged newborn burial near a park in Slagelse. Since Monday, police have been searching the area with specially trained dogs, but no significant progress has been made despite appeals for public assistance.

Police Inspector Kim Kliver noted that the department has received responses from 11 citizens, and they are actively following up on several of these leads. He assured that investigations would continue throughout the day as they work with the new information provided.

As of now, there have been no arrests or charges related to the case.

The police are exploring various avenues beyond the tips received from the public, and Kliver expressed optimism that combining all available information might lead to a breakthrough. However, he emphasized the importance of ongoing public input.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who might have relevant information, whether regarding the possible burial of the infant or to help identify a woman we would like to speak to,” Kliver added.

Dedicated personnel are available to handle inquiries, and the police encourage citizens to report any information, no matter how small it may seem. Kliver reassured that all information will be assessed appropriately.
