Cyclist filmed attacking driver in shocking incident in Ulvøya
Last week, a cyclist was filmed attacking a driver in a shocking incident that has sparked considerable attention. The driver, who legally parked his vehicle along Mosseveien while working in Ulvøya, claimed the cyclist rode past at high speed, damaging his side mirror without stopping.
A dashcam video from the driver’s vehicle confirms his account, capturing the moment the cyclist sped by. The footage, shared with consent, shows a brief impact sound as the cyclist brushes the parked car before making an obscene gesture and pedaling out of frame.
The driver highlighted that safety measures were in place, stating that warning triangles had been set up and everyone was wearing reflective vests. He described a near-miss scenario where the cyclist nearly struck two of his colleagues before colliding with his car. Despite the ample space on the pavement, attempts to stop the cyclist were unsuccessful.
Last week, the driver also shared a photo of the damaged mirror, emphasizing his regret over the incident. He expressed that he wished the entire situation had not occurred, asserting the importance of cooperation and following traffic regulations, regardless of the mode of transport.
The occurrence escalated tensions for the driver, who merely sought identification for insurance purposes. The incident was captured by truck driver Knut Berge, who described it as unprecedented and confirmed he was contacted by the police for the video footage.
