Violent incident reported in apartment building in downtown Oulu

A violent incident occurred early Monday morning in an apartment building located in downtown Oulu. Authorities report that an individual allegedly attacked another person in a stairwell with a sharp object, striking them in the upper body, and attempted to assault a second person as well. Police apprehended the suspect at the scene. During the operation, officers had to break a glass panel in the building’s staircase, though they confirmed no risk was posed to bystanders.

Prior to the violent encounter, those involved had reportedly been gathered in a private residence within the building. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the victim are not considered serious. Further updates regarding the situation are expected to be released later this week.
