Queen Silvia was looking forward to her visit to Singapore but has expressed her regret at being unable to join the trip, as announced by the royal household. The royal couple was scheduled to travel together from November 19 to 21, but now only King Carl Gustaf will make the journey.

The main goal of this state visit is to enhance and strengthen the ties between Sweden and Singapore. A delegation consisting of around 40 representatives from Swedish businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions has been organized by Business Sweden at the request of the Foreign Ministry.

Additionally, two Swedish ministers will be part of the visit. The government will be represented by Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard and Infrastructure and Housing Minister Andreas Carlson.

This marks the inaugural state visit between Sweden and Singapore, although King Carl Gustaf has previously traveled to the island nation for official engagements.
