Emergency services were alerted to a fire at 5:05 AM, with all residents successfully evacuating the premises, according to operations manager Viola Elvrum. One adult and five children were transported to St. Olav’s Hospital for evaluation after inhaling smoke.

The blaze, described as fully engulfing the structure, located in a 300 square meter home, is currently being fought by firefighters. Kåre Peder Norvik from the emergency control center reported that they do not yet have control over the situation. There are concerns that the fire may spread to an adjacent garage.

The house is home to two adults and seven children, with one of the residents alerting authorities about the fire. Firefighters are working to salvage sections of the building, but the severity of the flames complicates their efforts. Norvik acknowledged the risk of the fire spreading, indicating that while major flames are present, there were no confirmed reports of fire encroaching on nearby structures.

The area is filled with heavy smoke, prompting authorities to advise nearby residents to keep their windows closed for safety reasons.
