The Faroese embassy in Moscow will not reopen anytime soon, as it remains vacant and there are no immediate plans for its activities to resume. This information has been communicated to the Finance Committee by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The ministry has indicated that embassies are continuously being reassessed. Regarding potential new embassies, the ministry mentioned that while discussions about establishing new diplomatic missions, particularly in Greenland and Norway, may occur from time to time, there are currently no concrete plans in place.

The draft budget for 2025 allocates 37 million krónur for the eight active embassies.
