A decision has yet to be made regarding the fate of the oil tank owned by SEV located in Sund, which collapsed during severe weather in September.

The tank, constructed from ten circular segments, has had seven of those segments removed. The remaining three bottom sections were made from thicker material and are expected to withstand the winter’s weather conditions.

SEV’s director, Hákon Djurhuus, stated that the aim is to have the oil tank operational again by the summer. Originally, the tank was scheduled for commissioning in November of this year. With a capacity to hold 8,000 cubic meters of oil, the structure measures approximately 22 meters in diameter and stands 22 meters tall.
