Thousands left without power in Finland as storm causes widespread outages

As of early Sunday morning, more than 9,700 households in Finland were still without power, according to the national outage map. Severe winds caused by a storm swept across the country Saturday evening, leading to significant power disruptions, especially in the eastern regions. The outages were concentrated in the eastern and central parts of Finland during the early hours of Sunday. Forecasts suggest that strong winds are expected to persist throughout the day. A storm warning has been issued for maritime areas, with gusts predicted to reach speeds of up to 21 meters per second in some locations.
